Note to self: mark the calendar and buy the tickets.

May 17th, 2018 | Park City Community

Our weather is still two-steps forward, one step back while moving toward summer in our beautiful mountain town, but we all know that the parade of incredible summer activities in Park City is about to march in. Now is the time to plan, mark calendars, buy tickets and start getting excited! We made a to-do list for all of us in our office, and most of us found it so helpful we thought we’d share it with you.

Location Changes
Two location changes you’ll want to be aware of are the Farmers Market and Big Stars, Bright Nights concert series.

The Farmers Market is moving to the Silver King Resort parking lot at the Park City Mountain base area. For those of us who have been around long enough to still be confused about where is called what, it’s moving from Canyons to PCMR. It will be every Wednesday starting in mid-June and you’ll still look for the famous green pickup truck.

Park City Institute’s St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concert series is moving from Deer Valley to Quinn’s Junction near the ice rink. This is anticipated to be a one-year venue, but is sure to be a ton of fun.

Local Must-Do’s
Running With Ed is May 18th! This is one of our town’s most loved fundraisers, and if you’re not on a team, you’ll want to be on the side cheering them on. All of the money raised goes toward keeping Park City School District as one of the best in the state, so it’s all-hands-on-deck for every resident.

Savor the Summit has become an event not-to-be-missed, but you need to make your reservations now because the seats go fast. June 16this just around the corner! Remember how it works – you pick your favorite Main Street restaurant and make your reservations through them.

There are three huge concert series this summer (Big Stars – Bright Nights, Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series, and Utah Symphony/Opera) and a zillion smaller ones located all over town. We’ve found the best way to get an overview is on the Chamber of Commerce’s website. Get your calendar out and start making your must-see list so the shows don’t zip by without you being in the audience.

Mark your calendar for the 4thof July Celebration (7/4, duh), the Kimball Arts Festival (8/3-5, but locals get free pre-shop time on 8/2), and the Minor’s Day Celebration (9/4). These are when we all let our hair down and enjoy being with each other – small-towners doing fun traditions that bond us together. We love it!

Park City’s summer isn’t officially over until our Autumn Aloft event (9/15-16). The early morning lift off of scores of hot-air balloons that drift all over the area is a sight that makes your heart soar. It’s the perfect ending to a perfect summer.

We at Chin-MacQuoid-Fleming-Harris are looking forward to seeing all of you over the summer. Like you, we’ll be outside reveling under blue-bird skies and going to remarkable events. See you soon!
