Spring skiing is in full force at the Park City resorts and is stacking up to be one of the best in memory. Families and bands of college students on spring break are flocking to town for one last chance to enjoy the slopes. The party atmosphere is palpable with skiers trading in their down coats for tank tops, music playing loud and wild, and the vibe that this is 2019’s last chance to go big.
Sunshine on Your Shoulders
There are a lot of good reasons to love spring skiing, even if the snow is a little slushier. The warmer weather means there’s less bundling up to do and less stopping to thaw out frozen fingers and toes. Blue bird skies nearly every day are what most of the tourists remember about Park City, which has more days of sunshine every year than any other ski town in the country. Zooming down the mountain with the sun on your face and the smell of nature coming back to life filling the air is as great an outdoor experience as there is.
If you’re a bargain hunter, this is sure to be one of your favorite seasons. Most of the ski gear retailers have their 2019 merchandise on sale at considerable discounts. It’s the perfect time to outfit yourself for next year while the memory of last winter is still fresh in your mind. The very best equipment and ski clothing have yellow tags hanging from them at prices that cannot be beat!
Friends, Family, Food, & Fun
With the longer days also comes longer après ski celebrations with friends and family. The resorts have live bands that begin when the slopes close, and many restaurants on Main Street also have live performers through the dinner hours. Appetizer and drink specials are generous from 3:00 – 5:00, and many places are already opening their patios for people who cannot get enough of the great weather.
The next few weeks of spring skiing are our last chance to satisfy the ski-mania that is the heart of Park City. We at Chin-MacQuoid-Fleming-Harris hope to see all of you on the runs. With the weather as crazy as it is these days, we still live in hopes of a one last powder day. But, even if that dream doesn’t come true, we will all still be living the dream that life in Park City is!
