Steve Chin, CPA, CRS

 Steve grew up in Sacramento, California, graduated from Cal Poly-Pomona in California and from there worked as a CPA for the national real estate accounting firm, Kenneth Leventhal Company in Los Angeles. In 1975, Steve and his wife, Val, left Los Angeles with plans of taking a short winter break from tax season to ski in Park City.  This so-called short winter ski break has turned into over 30 wonderful years in Park City. He did everything from being a bellman, a night auditor, even housekeeping to fund their ski habit in Park City. From 1976 to 1980 Steve and Bob Wells, now Deer Valley’s VP and executive director for resort developments founded, owned, and operated a property management company overseeing 300-plus condominium units in Park City.

With his extensive real estate audit and tax background, property management experience, and engaging energy, Steve decided to try his hand in real estate in 1980.  Having been real estate partners for 17 years, Steve and Dena, last year teamed up with Ann and Suzanne.  The new partnership has allowed them to elevate their business success and knowledge depth even further.

 Steve’s other focus is clearly his family; his wife Val and two great boys, Cameron (ski coach and artist in Park City) and Josh (journalist in Beijing). Besides enjoying his family and his work, Steve has his outdoor hobbies, loves his music and even doing a little rock and roll dancing every now and then (he even has his own disco room!!). He and Val also share a passion for wine, and are partners in Parallel Napa Valley, a vineyard in St. Helena, California.  And of course, they couldn’t help but tie the name “Parallel” to skiing!

 Steve is actively involved with various community organizations, including the Park City Rotary Club, Friends of the Animals, The Egyptian Theatre and Utah Open Lands.
