Get your groove back – Park City style!

June 1st, 2020 | Park City Community

Park City is undoubtedly ready to get its groove back, and Mountain Town Music has come up with the perfect idea to bring live music to your cul-de-sac, street, driveway, garage, backyard, or anywhere that your small group of family and friends plans to responsibly gather.

The “Door 2 Door Tour 2020” offers a lineup of local bands — from singer-songwriters to rock, bluegrass, country-western and funk bands — sure to satisfy your musical taste and need to shake your tailfeather!

It’s the perfect solution for those looking to support your favorite local bands and non-profit while enjoying a night “out” in your own comfortable and safe space. Pricing ranges from $500-$1,000 for two hours of music, but the offerings don’t just end with MTM’s “menu” of more than three dozen bands. Along with live music, you also can add on dinner, drinks, games and decorations, and folks are encouraged to split the cost.

Local chef Joseph Saladyga and Savoury Kitchen will provide the food if you add on catering services, which start at $18 per person. All meals will be prepared on-site and delivered via table service following COVID-19 health guidelines.

For those looking to add adult beverages, Top Shelf Utah will provide add-on bar services. Bar packages include a bartender and full-service bar setup of your choice, and prices start at $575 for 20 guests. Beverages will also be prepared on-site, following all COVID-19 health guidelines.

But wait — that’s not all! MTM has a full array of event add-ons to enhance whatever setting you choose including bean-bag chairs, propane fire pits, patio heaters, shade umbrellas, bistro lighting, ropes/fencing (to ensure proper distancing) and even VIP-style restroom trailers with an attendant. There’s also a full assortment of lawn-party games to choose from such as cornhole, giant “Connect 4” and “Jenga,” putt-putt skee ball, bocce ball, croquet and more.

Rounding out their offerings, the Door 2 Door Tour offers a full-service COVID-19 specialist and supplies, suggested for groups of more than 20 guests with add-on catering and bar. The specialist is an expert in Summit County’s COVID-19 health orders and will provide all necessary services and supplies to keep your group and community safe from spreading the coronavirus. Example of services include attendee outreach before the event, COVID-19-related signage on site, vendor and attendee check-in on site, hand sanitizer for each group, masks and gloves as needed for vendors and guests, attendee/vendor accountability on site and post-event follow up if tracing is needed.

However, “home” isn’t the only place to see live local music this summer. Silver Star Café hosts an acoustic music dinner show they call “Park City Limits” every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night featuring folk, jazz, blues, Americana and bluegrass. These intimate dinner shows are for dining patrons only and are staged outside on the patio overlooking Park City Golf Club with spectacular 360-degree mountain views.

Head to historic Main Street Park City to The Spur Bar & Grill for live local music on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-8 p.m. The Spur hosts local, regional and national music acts with genres ranging from rock, country, celtic and folk to bluegrass, cover bands, blues and singer/songwriters.

Finally, The Cabin, also located on Main Street, is hosting trivia nights, DJs and live local music as part of its “Saturday Sessions” series, live from “The Den.” This Saturday, June 6, features Salt Lake City’s five-piece, genre-bending outfit Badfeather, blending “classic rock with subtle soul vibes, jam-band jive, a pinch of country-folk boogie and a glimmer of post-disco funk.” The show is from 8-11 p.m., and reservations are required.

Whichever venue you choose, let music be a social balm for soothing anxiety, enhancing community connections and celebrating community spirit!
