October 3rd – 6th Park City Wine Festival
Our town’s autumn wine festival brings together master winemakers, culinary greats, and lovers of wine to play, wine, and dine. You’ll experience more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors, and locally made products at this ultimate food and wine experience. Whether you are a full-fledged foodie or an emerging gourmand, you are sure to find more than one event to whet your appetite at the Wine Classic. There is something for everyone – from food and wine tastings, to seminars and luncheons, to outdoor adventures with food & wine influences, there are tastes and temptations at every turn.
October 12th Artoberfest at Kimball Art Center
To celebrate the turning of the seasons, Kimball Art Center is hosting Artoberfest, a fall-inspired, family friendly, art-filled event. Free activities include ceramics demonstrations, autumn themed printmaking and collage, sidewalk chalk, and live music starting at 1:30. For just $2, you can learn to paint pumpkins, make fall suncatchers, or compete for prizes in games.
October 12th Annual Shot Ski
Picture this: old skis paced end-to-end running the length of Historic Main Street. Now picture shot glasses adhered to those skis, filled with High West premium whisky, and everyone must lift in perfect synchrony to get that whiskey to their mouths. Of all the community events held in Park City, this one requires to most teamwork. It’s our annual competition with Breckenridge, Co. to see which town will hold the title of “Best Shot Skiers” for another year. Last year the shot ski used 484 skis totaling 2,257 feet in length in order to serve 1,275 people. This year, the event invites 1,310 shot-takers to break Breckenridge’s record set in January 2019 of 1,299 participants and 450 skis.
October 16th Final Wednesday for Park City Farmer’s Market
The Park City Farmers Market is drawing to a close for the winter. Stop by and pick up tree-ripened fruit, a bundle of organic vegetables, or locally made jams, jellies, trinkets, or jewelry. Don’t miss your last chance to support your local farmers and stock your kitchen with the freshest ingredients you can find anywhere. We won’t see it again until next summer!
October 25th Last Friday Gallery Stroll
Hosted by the Park City Gallery Association, the Last Friday Gallery Stroll, is a fun (and free) monthly community event dedicated to highlighting artists and special exhibits at art galleries throughout town. Park City’s art scene continues to thrive, offering a robust variety of unique art collections from local, national, and international artists. On the last Friday of each month, nineteen of our art galleries open their doors for visitors and locals alike to enjoy light refreshments and to admire their latest art installations.
Park City Gallery Stroll runs from 6:00 – 9:00pm on the last Friday of each month. It’s the perfect way to explore the Park City art scene while enjoying scenic Historic Main Street.
October 25th NAC Children’s Halloween Party
The National Ability Center is hosting a blast-out-the-doors Halloween party for kids and their parents. All they ask in return is your costumes are friendly (i.e. no masks or fake blood) and that all children are accompanied by an adult. 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the NAC Ranch.
October 31st Halloween on Main Street
On Halloween between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, Historic Main transforms into a metropolis of little ghosts and goblins. Participating merchants welcome children to Park City’s fun and safe Trick-or-Treating extravaganza. Caution: it’s been reported that parents have even more fun than their kids! At 5:00pm, the kids give way to our annual Howl-o-ween Dog Parade on Lower Main Street. Leashed, costumed dogs and their owners will meet below the Lower Main Street Pedestrian bridge at 4:45pm, and the parade begins at 5:00 p.m. marching to Heber Avenue.
As the leaves are painting their golds and reds across our mountains, Park City has already seen snow dustings. However, we’re not quite ready to move into winter full steam. We love our “shoulder” seasons, perhaps autumn the best of all. We hope to see you at one of the events we’ve listed in this blog!
