The Sound of Summer in Park City

July 16th, 2019 | Park City Community

Cool mornings, warm afternoons, the mountains covered in green, and live music filling the evening air … ah, summer in Park City is in full bloom. Almost any night of the week there’s a live concert performing somewhere between Deer Valley and Parley’s Summit. “One of the things I love most about summer in Park City is the outdoor concerts,” said Ann MacQuoid. “There’s just no better way to spend an evening than a picnic, wine, friends, and great music.” Most of the summer concerts are free to the public. We want to share our three favorite locations.

Deer Valley Outdoor Amphitheatre

This outdoor venue transforms Deer Valley’s “ski beach” into a stadium in the mountains. Limited seating is set up in the center front, but laidback blankets stretch far up the mountain. The Deer Valley Outdoor Amphitheater hosts scores of concerts featuring everything from the Utah Symphony to the Indigo Girls. “Some of my most memorable summer nights have been spent sitting on a blanket watching a Deer Valley Concert,” said Dena Fleming. “Bring a sweater – when the sun goes down it gets chilly, but the vibes are just heating up.” This summer, the DV Amphitheatre has an incredible line up of performances guaranteed to be unforgettable.

St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series

This summer marks the 16th anniversary of the St Regis Big Stars Bright Nights concert series presented by Park City Institute. Unlike previous years, this season will be presented on the Eccles Center stage, in Park City. “This summer, our music scene is an inside job,” said Executive Director, Terry Orr. “We are presenting these concerts in the place we know best, with Dolby sound and state-of-the-art lighting, comfortable seats-and plenty of free parking.” The lineup for the season features a wide variety of musical genres and styles, from country to rock, pop to blues. It’s a season of legendary and emerging performers-whose music is thrilling audiences all over the world.”

Park City Mountain Canyons Village

Every Thursday and Saturday night at 6:00pm, Canyons Village hosts free concerts that bring our community together to rock out. This summer’s line up is as eclectic as Park City’s residents! From country to hard rock, and everything in between, there’s going to be at least one band you won’t believe you get to hear for free. We’re have our eye on Stephan Kellogg on July 25th.  We’ve heard him many times performing at the Montage Hotel, and cannot wait to hear him in the great outdoors.

During the summer months, live music is Park City’s soul. There are many, many more free concerts happening around town. For a complete list, click here. From our family at CMFH to yours, we hope to see you on the grass with a blanket, taking it all in with good food and good friends enjoying the sounds of summer in Park City.
