Kimball Junction on the Grow!

May 20th, 2019 | Park City Community

We have been blown away with the growth of businesses in the Kimball Junction area. Any of us who have lived here prior to 2000 painfully remember the defunct K-Mart and the belief that nothing “out there” besides McDonald’s could make it. We now stand corrected. This area of Park City is thriving with restaurants, retail, and services.

New Restaurants

Bartolo’s is advertised as an Italian eatery, but there’s enough of crossover on the menu to make it not so easy to categorize. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner we found delicious items from all over the globe. Our favorites so far are the Swiss-inspired breakfast bowl made of muesli, green apple, yogurt, dates, nuts & seeds, Utah Trout Picatta sautéed in brown butter and lemon, and house-made Rigatoni Bolognese.

Hearth and Hill is our definition of no-rules gourmet food. The eclectic menu is updated weekly as fresh ingredients become available. We love their Sunday Brunch that offers delectables such as goat-cheese blitzes, molésteak and eggs, and rhubarb brioche. Every visit features new creations from the kitchen’s master chefs!

Townshend’s Tea House has been in business for more than a year, but we just recently discovered it! Whether you’ve never explored the world of tea or are looking for a new meet-up spot, this is the place. Scan through their “wall of tea” and try something new. They introduced us to Bubble Tea, a cold, sweet tea from Taiwan with chewy flavored tapioca balls. It may sound strange, but we’re addicted!

New Retail

Indigo Highway is a store about your life’s journey and sharing it with the world. Their inventory of clothing, home décor, jewelry, and scents will take you places you’ve only dreamed of before and make you want to share this gem with everyone you meet.

Mega Genius Supply Storeis a project of the Park City Institute. Their main focus isoffering free after-school literacy tutoring and critical thinking projects for Park City-area students in grades 2-12. But, their retail outlet of fun and funky genius supplies is worth the visit any day! Games, books, and tons of odd little things that spark your imagination make it the perfect store to take the kids.

New Services

The Office is a co-working office space that is perfect for the Park City independent entrepreneur who is tired of working out of their house or car. Equipped with state-of-the-art office technologies, conference room, and kitchen, The Office provides Parkites with all of the accouterments of an established workplace with none of the overhead heartache.

Great Clips Need a haircut in a hurry? Great Clips has a national reputation for quick and inexpensive cuts, and now has a local location. While they offer a full range of personal care services, their biggest plus that is that you don’t need an appointment.

All of us at Chin-MacQuoid-Fleming-Harris applaud the businesses in the Kimball Junction area. It’s been a long, winding road but their patience and determination are now paying off! We’ll keep you updated as more new storefronts arrive this summer. From what we hear, it’s going to be a gangbuster summer for KJ!
