Deer Valley and Park City are unique in that almost every single neighborhood in the area has something spectacular to offer. There’s something for everyone. Of course, we have ski-centric neighbourhoods, but there is also everything from pristine golf communities to neighborhoods that boast extravagant equestrian properties, and everything in between.
As a multi-generational team that’s been living in Park City for over 30 years (some of us our entire lives), we are intimately aware of the nuance and unique details that elevate Park City and Deer Valley communities to such world-renowned status.
In this post, we’re focusing on one neighborhood in particular. Join us as we take you through Deer Crest Estates in Deer Valley.
Where is Deer Crest Estates?
Completed around the year 2000, Deer Crest Estates was once located in the eastern part of Deer Valley. Today, it’s in the heart of Deer Valley. The neighborhood didn’t move; Deer Valley expanded around it.
Deer Crest Estates is nestled on 600 acres of beautiful land on Little Baldy Peak. This gated community boasts two private entrances. The West Gate is located about a mile from historic Main Street, while the East Gate is about a mile from Highway 40. With these two facts, you can already see a picture of the community and its best features forming.
Deer Valley East Village is also conveniently close, and once the project is complete, Deer Crest Estates residents will have access to the countless amenities we are expecting here. The yet-to-be-finished Snow Park Village is also within walking distance from Deer Crest Estates, adding even another layer of future convenience and appeal.

What is Deer Crest Estates Known For?
In so many words, it all boils down to: ski access, views, and convenience. Let’s break it down further:
Ski Access in Deer Crest Estates
Homes in Deer Crest Estates have almost unprecedented access to the ski hill. Nearby, there’s a 2-mile-long gondola that gets you up the hill in about 6 minutes, a high-speed quad lift, and the new Burns Express, which is great for beginner skiers and provides quick access to the St. Regis Deer Valley. If you’re looking for a neighborhood that offers ski-in, ski-out access, Deer Crest Estates is a definite contender.
The community is also home to gorgeous hiking and biking trails maintained by the Mountain Trails Foundation. These trails snake through Deer Crest Estates and connect to over 400 miles of trails across town.
Views in Deer Crest Estates
Deer Crest Estates is well-known for its stunning vistas. With about 60% of the community reserved for protected open space, the neighborhood feels private and tranquil while still being close to the action.
Homeowners can look out the window on one side of their home for views of the Jordanelle Reservoir, or look out another window for breathtaking views of Bald Mountain. Whether you live for the mountains or you’re more of a water baby, these views will inspire you.
The ski hill is also within your sightline, enticing you to grab your skis for a quick run or two.
Deer Crest Estates Conveniences and Amenities
One of the most notable features of Deer Crest Estates is the fact that the iconic St. Regis Deer Valley hotel is located here. This gives residents access to spectacular amenities such as the shops, amazing restaurants, and a world-renowned spa. Aprés ski culture is alive and well here, with many days on the slope ending with a nightcap at one of the several fantastic restaurants or bars.
It’s not uncommon to see homeowners in Deer Crest Estates drive up to the hotel and valet park. However, almost everything you could ever need is a quick stroll away. Whether you need to pick up a box of Band-Aids at the shop or book a ski instructor at the Deer Valley front desk, you’ll find all this and more at the St. Regis.
Outside of the community, there’s even more to enjoy. Deer Valley East Village is right there, eventually providing seemingly endless shopping and dining opportunities. And if you’re hoping to get out on the water, the Jordanelle State Park is less than 10 minutes away. All you need to do is exit the East Gate, and you’re practically there. You don’t even need to drive on the freeway!

Deer Crest Estates is also the community home to a record-breaking home sale in Utah. The home was listed at $65 million, and the buyer was represented by our very own Suzanne Harris!
Why We Love Deer Crest Estates
It’s hard to name just one thing we love about Deer Crest Estates. But for us, in addition to the convenience, beautiful homes, ski-access, and gorgeous views, we like to focus on a couple of little things that make a big difference.
- Elevation – Did you know that geographic elevation can affect things such as the quality of sleep you get? It’s true. Higher altitude means lower pressure and less oxygen, resulting in breathing issues and loss of deep sleep. Deer Crest Estates sits at about 8,000 feet above sea level, giving it the absolute best of both worlds. You’re high enough to enjoy the spectacular vistas, but not so high that your sleep is impacted. Sweet dreams!
- Airport Access – Deer Valley’s proximity to a variety of airports is one of the things that elevate it from other mountain resort towns. And that is no more obvious than in Deer Crest Estates. Not only is the Heber Valley Airport close by, but the community is a straight shot to Salt Lake City International Airport. There are no stop lights between here and there, and depending on who is driving, you can get to the airport and be sipping a coffee in the lounge in as little as 40 minutes.
