Our Climate Creates the Best Snow

Scientifically speaking, Park City and Deer Valley have the best snow for skiing. Beyond our mountain range, Park City is surrounded by a high desert climate, resulting in lower humidex. Low humidity and high elevation are the perfect combination for light and fluffy snow, resulting in near-perfect ski conditions.

In addition to this, our proximity to the Great Salt Lake causes a weather phenomenon known as the ‘lake effect.’ As a result, we receive more snowfall each year than many other parts of Utah. On average, Park City gets 278 inches of snowfall each year according to On the Snow.
