Parkites, (a notoriously health-conscious bunch) know that eating fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies is best for our health. It’s why Park City’s farmers’ markets have become such a staple in our community. Not only do you get access to the freshest produce, but by shopping at these markets, you also support your neighbors and the local economy.
There’s something so special about knowing your support helps local family farms that are run by people you can know by their first name and visit every week. It’s idyllic, convenient, and sometimes, cheaper than buying produce at the grocery store!
What Makes Park City Farmers’ Markets Special?
Just as much as farmers’ markets are a chance to stock up on local produce offerings, they also are an opportunity to connect with the community, as markets pride themselves on being a welcoming gathering place. It’s not just a place to shop, but rather a place to connect, slow down, and enjoy your day.
With multiple options for lunch, sweet treats and live music, markets are the perfect place to meet up with friends and catch up on the week’s happenings.
What makes fruits and vegetables from farmers’ markets so special is that they’re picked at the peak of the growing season, meaning produce is at its freshest and tastes the best. But market offerings extend well beyond produce to local meats, cheeses, flowers, sauces, salsas and more. It’s truly an immersive experience.
They also offer a prime opportunity to learn tips, tricks and options for storing, cooking and maximizing your produce directly from farmers. Farmers often love to share their favorite recipes or best ways to prepare their products.
While markets aren’t necessarily a one-stop shop for all your grocery needs, with several markets and farm stands in and around Park City, their convenience, low pricing and opportunity to support the community make them essential additions to your weekly routine.

Park City Farmers Market
Park City Farmers Market is the Wednesday meeting spot to visit with friends and family. Ever-growing and improving, the Market hosts between 80 and 100 vendors each week at Park City Mountain Resort. Typically, the Market runs from late May through late October.
Vendors are hand-selected by founder, Volker Ritzinger and priority is given to Summit County growers, artists, and purveyors.
Because it is grown locally, there is a good chance that the herbs, vegetables, and fruits you buy were picked just that morning. Since they are cultivated on local farms and are not subject to lengthy transportation and storage, you’ll discover fruits and vegetables that may never make it to the produce section of your local corporate chain supermarket. We love hitting up the market to scope out new things to try!
Supporting local is an essential part of living in Park City, and many of our favorite businesses also rely on local farmers and producers. For example, you can find local fare at some of the Best Restaurants in Park City.
Park Silly Sunday Farmers Market
Each Sunday during the summer, Historic Main Street is transformed into an open-air festival at Park Silly Sunday Market. What started as a handful of local artisans selling their wares has now grown to a full-blown weekly bazaar, including a large section devoted to local produce growers. You’ll see the inventory change from week to week as different crops come in season. Several of the vendors also create fresh jams and salsas from their produce. Community-supported agriculture like this is the kingpin of the local food movement.
The goal is to know who grows your food and how they do it as we return to eating food that is fresh, as organically grown as possible, and produced by farming practices that support nature rather than deplete it.
