Best Places in Park City to Watch Sports

As a town with a general population that is tuned into sports and recreation, Park City is home to some avid sports fans. And what better way to feel a sense of community and fun with your fellow supporters than to head to a live event, a sports bar or a viewing party? Watching sports with a crowd feels electric and thrilling; it reminds us of the feeling of pride and camaraderie that was palpable during the 2002 Winter Olympics!

The Olympics may not come around every year, but there’s still plenty of sport to enjoy at any time of year. If you’re interested in watching live or televised sports in Park City, here’s where you should go:

Restaurants and Sports Bars

Whether you’re cheering on the Utah Jazz or Real Salt Lake soccer, the Utah Mammoth, or any one of your favorite teams, a sports bar is a great place to watch and enjoy the ambiance. Here are some of our top picks:

Collie’s Sports Bar and Grill

Nothing feels as “hometown” in Park City quite the way Historic Main Street does. And there’s no place on Main Street better for watching sports than Collie’s Sports Bar. With 25+ TVs all over the restaurant, you’re guaranteed a great view from every table. The atmosphere is charged for victory and as friendly as it gets.

Broadcasting all major sports packages including NFL Sunday Ticket and Thursday Night Football, it’s a great place to cheer on your team. And during the Olympics, Collie’s is THE place to be to watch our athletes make history.

Maxwell’s

On game night, there’s no place we’d rather be than Maxwell’s. That’s true for the Olympic Games too. Their bar is huge, which makes the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd almost feel like a live concert. Whoops and hollers turn into group competitions, the bartenders show their skills slinging cocktails and beers for the crowd, and the best pizza in Park City is consumed pie after pie. TVs are all over the place, so there’s no chance the crowd will block your view. That overwhelming feeling of group joy fills the place, corner to corner.

If you’re looking for even more reasons to head to Maxwell’s, they take special pride in celebrating holidays like National Martini Day and National Dive Bar Day.

No Name Saloon

Known for its eclectic decor and world-famous buffalo burger, you simply can’t beat the atmosphere at the No Name Saloon. Located on Historic Main Street, this bar and restaurant is a great choice to cheer on your team. In addition to an amazing vibe and delicious food, No Name hosts numerous viewing parties all year long, from March Madness and the Super Bowl to the Kentucky Derby. If it’s action-packed, you’ll find it at the No Name Saloon.

No Name Saloon is also one of the main sponsors of Skijoring Utah. If you’ve never experienced Skijoring, it’s an annual event in Heber City you don’t want to miss.

Spectator Sports in Park City

Of course, Park City is famous for winter sports; we were, after all, a Winter Olympic venue in 2002 (and will be again in 2034!). With competitive spirit running in our veins, it’s no surprise that there are numerous venues and sporting events happening in Park City all year long. If you love the thrill of live sport, here a few you should check out:

The Utah Olympic Park

Park City has not only maintained its legacy Olympic venue, but it’s improved it over the years as well, solidifying the Utah Olympic Park as a premier spot for competitions. In addition to professional bobsled and skeleton competitions, you can also check out alpine events on the collegiate and national level. Even when there are no events on the calendar (which is rare), you can also head over and see some of our top athletes training at this world-class athletic facility.

The Utah Olympic Park has incredible children’s programming. For more on that, read: Things to Do with Kids in Park City This Summer

Woodward

The campus at Woodward is a great place to catch some extreme sports. In addition to its regular offerings, Woodward is also the venue for a few events and competitions throughout the year that usually draw a lot of spectators. There’s The Uninvited Invitational, a women’s freestyle snowboard event that typically attracts riders from around the world. You can also spectate events like the Big Mountain West Series, hosted by the United States of America Snowboard Association. For extra fun, the campus also frequently has regional Rail Jams. In the summer, you can enjoy the fast-paced thrill of the mountain bike Short Track Series. When the venue isn’t hosting events, you may also see professional snowboarders, skateboarders, or slope-style mountain bikers practicing at the facility.
