Here at Chin|MacQuoid|Fleming|Harris, we’re always inspired and energized by the holiday season in Park City – especially when it kicks off with such a snowy start! We can’t get enough of the beautiful lights, gorgeous decorations, amazing food, non-stop activities, and delightful shopping.

This Christmas, we’re committed to helping you support local businesses, makers, and community members, and have fun along the way. Whether you’re planning a trip to Park City or mapping out your holiday traditions with family and friends, we’ve rounded up this month’s holiday events, shows, shopping, and of course – how to see Santa! Read on to see everything you need to plan a merry and magical December in Park City.

EVENTS

  • Electric Light Parade, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.: Not only is Main Street decked out with festive holiday lights, so are all the vehicles in this elevated light display in Old Town. The parade starts at the top of Main Street and ends at Heber Avenue. 
  • Santa at The Fieldhouse, Dec. 17: Get into the holiday spirit with a fun-filled afternoon at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse featuring arts and crafts, bounce houses, cookie decorating, and pictures with Santa ($5 per child, kids 2 and under free); 3:30-6 p.m. 
  • Santa Comes Down the Town Lift, Dec. 17: In preparation for Christmas Eve, Santa will make sure there’s no rust on the sleigh as he makes a trial run the week before the holiday with this annual appearance coming down Park City’s Town Lift.  
  • Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt, Dec. 20: Looks like some Santa’s elves dropped candy canes all over the PC MARC. Grab your flashlight or headlamp and help find them from 3:30-6 p.m. Come early to the gymnasium and decorate bags, take pictures with Olaf and sip hot cocoa. Pre-registration required ($8, for children ages 3-8).
  • Santa Visits Deer Valley, Dec. 24: Santa Claus will visit guests at the Snow Park Lodge base area from 9- 11 a.m., and mid-mountain near Silver Lake Lodge from noon-1:30 p.m. Bring your camera and take a picture with Santa!
  • Deer Valley Torchlight Parade, Dec. 30: Witness Deer Valley’s spectacular annual tradition as the Torchlight Parade makes its way down Big Stick ski run on Bald Eagle Mountain. Enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, cider and cookies on the plaza at Snow Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

SHOWS

  • Park City Singers Christmas Concert, Dec. 9-10: Join the Park City Singers, a community choir, for two nights of Christmas classics performed at the Park City Community Church (4501 State Highway 224). Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. 
  • Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-Along, Dec. 15-18: This annual holiday variety show at the historic Egyptian Theatre features four nights of song, dance and skits of holiday favorites performed by an all-local cast. The show includes choir-led sing-alongs and a visit from Santa Claus!
  • Mark O’Connor Appalachian Christmas, Dec. 17: The Park City Institute hosts Grammy-winning composer and fiddler Mark O’Connor at the Eccles Center (1750 Kearns Blvd.) for an evening of fresh takes on Christmas classics and original compositions, set to bluegrass arrangements and other American music genres. 
  • Kurt Bestor, Dec. 22-25: Ring in the holidays with this beloved Christmas tradition at the Egyptian Theatre. Emmy award-winning composer Kurt Bestor imparts the season’s joyful spirit through traditional favorites and original music.

SHOPPING

  • Silly Holiday Bazaar, Dec. 9-11: The Park Silly Sunday Market makes its annual December appearance with this festive, indoor holiday market for three days at the DoubleTree Park City Yarrow (1800 Park Ave.). Hours are Friday from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Makers Market at Create PC, Dec. 2-24: Located in the heart of Old Town at 660 Main Street, this pop-up artist collective is home for more than 70 Park City makers and their stories, and it provides a hub for shoppers to support them. Shopping kicks off Friday, Dec. 2 with a reception from 6-9 p.m. Open daily from noon-6 p.m.
  • The Hive Market: With locations in Park City and Salt Lake City, each shop features a different and rotating cast of Utah makers and their unique offerings ranging from paper products and home goods to clothing and wellness products. Visit the Hive at the Park City Outlets (6699 N. Landmark Dr.), Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday from noon-6 p.m. 
  • Artique: This artist co-op shop in Kamas (283 N. Main St.) features the wares and creations of more than a dozen local makers including artists, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, painters, photographers, woodworkers, and more. Open Thursday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • MadeinParkCity.com: This website makes shopping local even easier thanks to this curation of vendors in one concise location online. Find local goods and artisans, and shop by category or vendor. 

ONGOING ATTRACTIONS

  • Silver Sky Nights at Canyons Village, Dec. 16 & 23: Head to Canyons Village for live music, treats, live ice-carving demonstrations, and of course, a spectacular firework displays beginning at 4 p.m. (fireworks at 5:50 p.m.). 
  • North Pole Express – through Dec. 23: All aboard this fun-filled journey on the Heber Valley Railroad (450 South 600 West, Heber) to the North Pole to find Santa! This 90-minute round trip includes hot cocoa, Mrs. Claus’ famous chocolate chip cookies, entertainment and a gift from Santa. If you can’t catch the train before Christmas, try the After Christmas North Pole Express from Dec. 26-29.
  • Holiday Lights Wagon Rides at Jordanelle – through Dec. 31: Enjoy being pulled through a dazzling Christmas light display at Jordanelle State Park (515 State Road 319, Heber) by a team of Percheron draft horses. Christmas-time goodies, s’mores, hot chocolate, and cider will be available for purchase before and after this 20-minute interactive light show.
  • Snow Globe Stroll – through Jan. 8: This winter marks the third year for Park City’s annual Snow Globe Stroll, feature seven new life-size snow globes – with each themed around different holiday songs including “Last Christmas,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Winter Wonderland.” Passersby can enjoy festive Historic Park City holiday decorations including Santa’s mailbox located at the top of Main Street and the Main Street Christmas tree.
